Starting your Monday off with a latte because we all need something delicious to start this day.
It’s the first day of Fall so it’s only fitting that I also start this Monday with a Pumpkin Spice Latte or PSL if you prefer.
Heck, you don’t need it to be fall to enjoy this drink. Starbucks has been selling it for weeks now and the weather was still in the 90’s.
I love being able to make coffeehouse drinks at home and this Butterscotch Pumpkin Spice Latte is no exception.
It’s a classic pumpkin spice latte but with the addition of Torani Butterscotch syrup. It’s SO good!
The weather outside is still hot and I’m so ready to throw on some comfy sweaters, boots and sip hot lattes while foraging for a pumpkin and buying all the pink mums.
I’m hoping this latte ushers in the cooler weather.
BUTTERSCOTCH PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE INGREDIENTS:
You will need the following items to make this homemade pumpkin spice latte with butterscotch
- milk of choice
- pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
- instant espresso or strong coffee
- vanilla extract
- pumpkin pie spice
- butterscotch syrup
- whipped cream
- pumpkin spice sauce
STEPS TO MAKE BUTTERSCOTCH PUMPKIN SPICE DRINK RECIPE
- Into a small sauce pot, over medium low heat, add milk, pumpkin puree, coffee, vanilla extract and pumpkin pie spice. Whisk to combine.
- Pour into a fine mesh sieve to get out any lumps.
- Pour into coffee mug
- Add butterscotch syrup, sugar if desired to sweetness preference, whipped cream and pumpkin pie sauce.
CAN I MAKE THIS PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE ICED?
Yes, simply follow all of the steps and place mixture into the refrigerator to cool. Add ice to a glass and pour pumpkin spice latte into mug.
You still want to heat the ingredients on the stove so the instant espresso and pumpkin pie spice can dissolve into the milk.
HOW CAN I SWEETEN MY PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE?
You can use any sweetener of choice. I used sugar in this butterscotch pumpkin spice latte, but you could also use
- Maple Syrup
I recommend adding a little bit at a time once the butterscotch syrup has been added. That way you can adjust to your sweetness preference.
