Wow your guests with this sweet and luscious Peach Pie. It's simple to put together and has a taste that is out of this World. It's the perfect dessert for all those wonderful and fresh summertime peaches!
Ingredients
Pie Crust:
1 1/2 cup vegetable Shortening
3 cups All-purpose Flour
1 whole Egg
5 Tablespoons Cold Water
1 Tablespoon White Vinegar
1 teaspoon Salt
Pie Filling:
6 peaches, peeled and sliced
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1/3 cup flour
1 stick butter, diced into small pieces
Instructions
Pie Crust:
In a large bowl, using a pastry cutter or two forks, blend together the flour and shortening until it resembles small pea like crumbs.
Beat the egg in small bowl and pour into flour mixture.
Add in water, vinegar and salt and stir together just until combined. Do not over mix.
Separate the dough in half and roll into a ball.
Place each ball of dough into a resealable bag, seal them up and slightly flatten with a rolling pin.
Place them in the freezer until you need them.
If you are using immediately, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before rolling out and using.
Then allow the dough to thaw for 20 minutes.
On a floured surface, place your dough and starting in the middle, roll out the dough until it's slightly bigger than the pan you are using.
Carefully lift the dough from your work surface and press into pan make sure it covers all sides.
Pie Filling:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Place all ingredients into a bowl and stir to combine.
Pour filling into pan and bake in oven for 1 hour.
After baking,allow pie to cool completely before slicing.
