Smoky spices, liquid smoke and Clamato juice blend perfectly to create these Smokin’ Michaladas which are the ultimate brunch sippers.
Ingredients
- 32 ounces Clamato Original
- 1 ½ cups vodka (regular or pepper)*
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
- 1 tablespoon horseradish
- liquid smoke (2-3 drops)
- Worcestershire sauce, to taste (we use 1-2 teaspoons)
- hot sauce to taste (we use 1-2 teaspoons)
- 4 cups ice, divided
- Hickory Smoke seasoning (I purchased this online but it’s a combination of Black peppercorns, white peppercorns, garlic, onion, ginger and hickory smoke granules) Any smoky rub will be perfect.
- Lime wedges for rimming
- 4 cups of ice, divided
- 3 (12 ounce) Mexican beers
- Celery sticks, lime wedges, blue cheese stuff olives for garnish, if desired.
*Vodka is optional. If you want to leave it out, just add more Clamato juice.
Instructions
- In a large pitcher, combine ingredients from Clamato original through hot sauce. Stir to combine and refrigerate until ready to use.
- When ready to use, rim each of the 8 glasses with lime wedges and then dip into smoky rub.
- Add ½ cup ice to each glass.
- Divide Clamato mixture equally between each glass, leaving about 1/3 at the top of the glasses.
- Top each michelada with beer.
- Garnish with celery stick, lime wedge and olives.
